Project Summary

The house is located on a steep site in Fish Hoek. The building negotiates the site slope over three levels. The garage and entrance comprise the lowest level. Above this are the living areas which flow onto a large covered veranda that takes advantage of the incredible sea views. The bedrooms are located on the third level, as a separate linear block higher on the hill. The living and bedroom spaces are linked via a mono-pitch roof angled the same as the slope of the site. This allows the building to sit with the landscape and not compete with it. The ventral white chimney provides a focal point anchoring the building within its landscape.
