Lake Michelle

Project Summary

The house is designed with indoor living spaces accessing outdoor spaces, enhancing the South African lifestyle of relaxing, cooking and braaiing, and entertaining. The north-facing site, on Northshore Drive in Lake Michelle, is 830m2 in size. The house is 205m2, consisting of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study and double-garage. The house is organised into two forms; the double-storey barn structure, on the road, accommodates the bedrooms. Another barn, accommodating open-plan living areas on the northern side, flows onto a shaded entertainment deck. The house and deck are protected from the south-easter wind, and enjoy great views of the mountain ranges to the north.
